2CELLOS performs at Women’s U20 World Championship opening ceremony

The world-famous 2CELLOS will be the star performer of the XXI IHF Women’s U20 World Championship’s opening ceremony on 1. July in Debrecen.


Young Croatian cellists, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser always prefer live music on stage. They are known as taking the cello to unimagined heights with their incredible talent and undeniable passion and with their unique music style they achieve great success worldwide. The duo entertain their fans with popular hits tuned to cello. Their playing style breaks down the boundaries between different genres of music, from classical and film music to pop and rock. 2CELLOS rose to fame when their version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” took the world by storm, and they adapted the AC/DC “Thunderstruck” song too, which is over 119 million views on YouTube. The duo performed this year’s football Champions League-final match, between Real Madrid and Liverpool.




The opening ceremony – with the performance of 2Cellos – of the World Championship begins at 16:00 hrs on 1. July 2018 in Debrecen.


For the opening ceremony on 1st July in Főnix Csarnok and for the opening match (Hungary-Brazil), tickets can be purchased for 3,000 HUF (approx. 9,38 EUR), tickets for the placement matches (placement matches 5-8th places, bronze medal game, final) on 14th July will cost 1000 HUF (approx. 3 EUR), for each additional playing days, tickets can be purchased for 500 HUF (approx. 1,6 EUR).


Enter to the opening day (1 July), the semi-finals and the final (13-14 July) is free of charge without reservation under the age of 6 (on the same seat with an adult), on the other days, by showing an ID card, children under the age of 14 can enter for free.

During 2 July-12 July, you can take your seat according to your arrival.


For each ticket, we offer you a glass of beer or soft drink! When purchasing a tournament ticket, 6 glasses of beer or soft drink are offered!


Tickets and tournament tickets are valid both in Főnix Csarnok and both in Hódos Imre Rendezvénycsarnok.


During the event you can also buy tickets in the event halls, where you can only pay by Hungarian Forint (HUF) and only cash.

The first four ranked teams qualify for the eight-finals.



1-8. July: Preliminary Round
